Tailoring training programA vocational tailoring training program over a period of 4 months has been conducted for 20 women rural youth in Pillahalli, Mysuru taluk. Netravati Yettinamani, Scientist (Home Science) from JSSKVK, Suttur, Sri. Sathyamurthy, Sri Manjunatha from Lions Club, Sri. Ramachandra, Sri. Ningappa and Sri. Nanjundaswamy from leders of Pillhalli village were witness the programme. |
A day for the farmer programmeA day for the farmer programme has been inagurated by Sri. B.C. Patil, Agriculture Minister, GoK at Mysuru. The incubetee Lokarangan, Vasudha Masala exhibited the masala prodocts in the event. The village visit programme has been organized by the Dept of Agriculture at Talur, Mysuru taluk on 22nd April 2022, the programme was attended by Sri. J.G. Rajanna, Programme Assistant (Soil Science). |
Azolla production ProgrammeAn Azolla production training programme has been conducted at Hediyala, Nanjangud Taluk in collaboration with the Hand-in-Hand institute on 22nd April 2022. Dr. U.M. Rakshith Raj, Scientsit (Animal Science) and Manjunatha Angadi provided the information to the farmers. More than 30 farmers were attending the programme. |
Kisan Bagidhari Prathamiktha Hamari ProgrammeOn the eve of Independence Amrutha Mahotsava Dept. of Agriculture, GoI has been organized a online programme Kisan Bagidhari Prathamiktha Hamari on 26th April 2022. During the programme Minster of Agriculture, GoI delivered a lecture. In collaboration with DoA and ATMA, Mysuru this online programme has been organized. In this event, faclitation of progressive farmers viz., Sri. Shankar Guru, Jayapura, Sri Jayashankar, Hediyala and Sri. Rohit, Jayapura for the significant achivement in the field of agriculture and allied fields. More than 300 farmers were witnessed the programme. |
Scientific techniques in coconut cultivation workshopA worshop on scientific techniques in coconut has been organized at ICAR JSS KVK Suttur in collaboration with Coconut Development Board (CDB), Bengaluru. During the programme Dr. G.M. Vinay, Sciensit (Hort) delivered a lecture on selection of varieties and intercropping. Sri. J.G. Rajanna, Programme Assistnat (Soil Science) delivered a lecture on Integrated Nutrient Management. Smt. Netravati Yettinamani, Scienttist (Home Science) delivered a lecture on value addition on coconut. More than 116 farmers were attended the programme. |
Field inspection to black gram seed production plotsICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra Suttur has taken “Creation of Pulse Seed hub” project from 2016, under pulse seed hub project blackgram var LBG 791 seeds were distributed to 393 farmers during summer 2022, which was sown in 327 ha area of Mysuru district. Crop is in pod filling stage. Field inspection to selected farmers plot was done by Senior scientist and Head, Technical officer (Seed hub). During the visit farmers are trained to identify the offtypes and guided to remove the ODV, diseased and deformed plants, weed plants and other plants. |
Erode Horticulture officer’s exposure visit to KVKHorticulture Officers from the Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops, Erode District, Tamilnadu visited ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Suttur, Nanjangud Taluk, Mysuru District on 03-05-2022 as part of interstate exposure visit under National Horticulture Mission. The Technical officers visited various demonstration units of KVK such as nursery, vermicompost production unit, half acre high density plantation crops model, pottery unit, banana special production unit, azolla unit, goshala, and seed processing unit. Further, the information on agro climatic conditions and major crops cultivated in the Mysuru District was also appraised. |
Diagnostic field visitA Diagnostic field visit was conducted by Agriculture expert team of Mysuru district in the programme of Krushi Sanjeevini on 25-05-2022, in this programme Scientist Horticulture Dr Vinay G M and other experts from agriculture and horticulture department of Mysuru visited Onion, Ginger, Coconut, Banana and Tomato plots at Sinduvalli, Yelachanagere and Kugaluru villages of Nanjungud Taluk and suggested to follow the INM and IPDM to get good yield and income. |
Cross learning of KVKKVK scientist Dr Vinay G M, programme assistant Rajanna G J and Farm Manager Gangappa Hipparagi visited Dharwad KVK on 27-05-2022 to know the activities of KVK and discussed with KVK Head A V Biradar, also visited soil science lab of KVK to learn about the new methods of analyzing the soil samples, later visited Mango grafts nursery at Thergav village near Dharwad to know the method of preparations of commercial quality mango grafts and also to buy Grafts to KVK. |
Training on Nutri Garden and World Honey bee day celebrationOn 20th May 2022, ICAR JSS KVK Suttur organized training programme on nutri garden establishment for nutritional security of the rural households under Nutri garden programme and celebrated the World Honey bee day at Harathale village of Nanjanagudu taluk. 30 women were participated in the programme. Mrs. Netravati Yattinamani, Scientist (Home Science) explained about the importance of vegetables and fruits in improving health, vegetables cultivation and compost making, details of vegetables which can be grown in nutri garden and also explained about importance of honey and bee keeping in improving crop yield. After the training, interacted with school and Anganawadi teachers regarding establishment of nutri garden at school and Anganawadi. |
